For World Oceans Day 2024, The Marmara Project was represented by team member Arya Yurdacan during a virtual Deep Dive hosted by World Ocean Day and the John Nurminen Foundation as part of Ocean Week.
The webinar brought together ocean advocates, researchers, storytellers, and conservation voices to discuss the alarming state of the ocean and the urgent need for action.

Alongside speakers including Fabien Cousteau, Dr. Lucy Woodall, and ocean photographer Greg Lecoeur, Arya joined conversations exploring the ocean crisis, advocacy work, conservation efforts, ecosystem restoration, and the importance of personal connection in a time of rapid marine environmental change.
Topics throughout the webinar included climate anxiety, interconnectedness, youth involvement, ocean advocacy, restoration, and conservation storytelling.
